Is it possible that intelligent life forms visited Earth thousands of years ago, bringing with them technology that drastically affected the course of history and man’s own development?

Presented in the 1968 bestselling book Chariots of the Gods, by Erich von Daniken, the theory of “ancient aliens” rocked people’s beliefs in mankind’s progress. Ancient cave drawings of strange creatures, remains of landing strips in Peru, and Indian texts that describe the “flying machines of the gods” were just a few of the odd archaeological artifacts cited by von Daniken as proof that ancient astronauts were well known to our ancestors.

Produced with the exclusive cooperation of von Daniken himself, the documentary series Ancient Aliens launches all-new expeditions to seek out and evaluate this evidence, with a concentration on discoveries of the last 30 years, including unusual DNA findings on man’s evolution and newly decoded artifacts from Egypt to Syria to South America. It is a balanced investigation into a theory some believe cannot be true, but many agree cannot be ignored.

Episode 1: The evidence
If ancient aliens visited Earth, what was their legacy, and did they leave behind clues that exist in plain sight such as sophisticated aircraft, complex electrical grids, and intricate construction machinery? Indian Sanskrit texts, dating back to 6000 B.C., describe in varying but vivid detail flying machines called Vimanas. Megalithic stone structures in Egypt reveal evidence of precision saw work. Interpretations of the Jewish Zohar writings offer depictions of a life-sustaining manna machine, eerily similar to chlorella algae processing systems today. Are these examples of modern technology, or is there evidence that these incredible mechanisms existed on Earth thousands of years ago?

Episode 2: The visitors
If ancient aliens visited Earth, who were they, and where did they come from? Possible historic evidence and beliefs are examined around the world. The Dogon people possess knowledge of a galaxy they claim was given to them by a star god named Amma. The Hopi and Zuni people celebrate Kachinas, gods from the sky, whose headdresses and costumes appear to resemble modern helmets and protective clothing. Halfway around the world, Chinese legends tell of the Han leader, Huangdi, arriving on Earth on a flying, yellow dragon. Was this dragon more likely a spacecraft? Ancient astronaut theorists believe that these are far from chance encounters and that extraterrestrials not only interacted with us, but changed the course of human history.

Episode 3: The Mission
If ancient aliens visited Earth, what was their mission, and is there evidence that points to when they will return? Ancient Sumerian tablets describe an alien race, known as the Anunnaki, who came to Earth to mine for gold. Egyptian hieroglyphs depict hybrid creatures that were part man, part animal. Mysterious crop circles and unexplainable crystal skulls are thought to contain messages that man has yet to decipher. Strange evidence may exist in multiple cultures throughout history suggesting that aliens came here to explore, excavate raw materials, experiment on human beings, and even for pure conquest.

Episode 4: Closer encounters
Reports of encounters with strange beings and sightings of mysterious objects in the sky have occurred throughout history. A 13th century historical book, Otia Imperialia, includes an account of a creature descending from a flying craft over Bristol, England. The log from Christopher Columbus’ first voyage to America contains a report of strange lights in the sky. Medieval art pieces depict disc-shaped objects floating in the heavens. Sightings of flying cigar-shaped crafts were reported during the Black Plague. And there were even discussions of extraterrestrial life among America’s Founding Fathers. Could these sightings, coming from every part of the world, from biblical times to present day, be evidence that aliens have been with us all along?

Episode 5: The return
There is evidence that suggests we experienced 20th century alien contact. In 1942, the Battle of Los Angeles involved the US military and Air Defense allegedly fighting a UFO. WWII Allied Air Force planes were buzzed by balls of light that some think could have been extraterrestrial. And the alleged crash of a flying saucer in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947 propelled the world into the age of UFOs. For decades, some people have been searching for the sounds of extraterrestrial intelligence, while others have been sending messages out into deep space. What would happen if aliens answered… or came calling? What protocols exist to determine who would speak on behalf of mankind, and how might we communicate? What happens if they return? Some believe they already have.

Special Episode: Chariots, gods and beyond
What if life on Earth began in outer space? Millions of people accept the theory that intelligent life forms visited Earth thousands of years ago and were worshiped as gods by primitive man. Are monuments like Stonehenge and Easter Island the last remains of an ancient alien visitation? From unexplainable super structures, to knowledge of the solar system, mathematics, and even the ability to make electricity, this special explores evidence of super-human influences on ancient man and embarks on an around-the-world search for answers. It’s an investigation into a theory some believe cannot be true, but many agree cannot be ignored.

  • I love this damn series.

Does anyone know much about the Ancient Map that included a fairly accurate coastline of the Americas and Antarctica?

That particular historical anomaly is astounding.

And since I’m posting… THANK YOU ESOTERICTUBE, for putting up alternative narratives, without regard to the conventional political spectrum… letting people view it, and think for themselves.

It’s a really cool and interesting series. They bring up lots of cool theories some even very wild for those stuck in the mainstream worldview.
They have great footage in the series of all temples and other mystic sites.
In the series they focus a lot on “nuts & bolts” 3d physical aliens and outerspace. They don’t really talk much about the possibility of hyperdimensional beings existing on another frequency. They have also left out the mysteries of the inner man (innerspace), consciousness and the subconscious, psychedelic drugs, spirituality and psychology.
They never talk about Atlantis, which is kinda weird.
You can feel the series is pretty aimed for a major audience so I guess they avoid talking about some stuff to not hit the conspiracy compartment too hard.
Graham Hancock shows up a lot in the series but he feels very censured if you have seen or read stuff of him before he talks about a lot more, especially psychedelics.
Maybe the show want to push an alien agenda on our consciousness.
Might be the next big thing they are planning.
Blaming the terrorist will not work much longer so they might have some dirty trick coming soon for humanity that they will blame on aliens instead of terrorists.
It’s also a lot of subjective wishful thinkning in the series.
Nevertheless a good and interesting series.

How come whenever a brown or black civilization accomplish something amazing must be atributed to extraterestrial foreign help but whenever a white or yellow civilization do something advanced its attributed to their highly advanced sophisticated culture?

Mr. bean is totally right, its nothing to do with ‘playing the race card’, all these discoveries simply point to the possibility that the ancients could have been far more technologically advanced than previously accredited. Its quite amazing to watch these guys talking about these discoveries and immediately jumping to the conclusion that it must have come from somewhere outside the planet. There minds appear to be stuck in the premise that pre-western civilizations were as we call ‘primitive’ and therefore incapable of such highly sophisticated knowledge.

Simply imagine that our world gets destroyed tomorrow and in 10000 years there is a new race and civilization which has perhaps taken a couple thousand years to build up its own advancement in technology and thought and having come so far, naturally assume themselves to be superior than all the empires and societies in previous history. Then one day a some fragments of evidence are discovered indicating that there were once cities and technologies which were just as, or even potentially more advanced than their current achievements. This is simply too much of a blow to their pride, and even more so – mental conditioning, so they attribute these advancements to something outside. This way they are still the most advanced race in the history of the planet and can maintain their pride in their sense of progress, as opposed to admitting having gone backward or only just catching up to where their ancestors were thousands of years before them.

And it is unfortunately the case that all the aliens seem to have visited civilizations of non-caucasian ancestry, meaning the current western society can be proud of having achieved its advancements all by itself and the perplexing questions as to how the ‘primitive’ civilizations of the Egyptian and Ancient Americas achieved things we still cant understand today can be simply answered by attributing these feats to alien intervention.

So I totally agree with you Mr bean, and it has absolutely nothing to do with playing any kind of ‘race card’ Dates. It’s simple observation and stepping away from the closed and bias interpretation of history that we have all been raised and educated with, and that I believe will potentially hinder our speed and progression in current scientific understanding and technology.

  • With my academic background in Anthropology and Archaeology I find pseudoscience entertaining, more specifically I find this series entertaining.
Though I think it is important for you to realize who you are actually listening to.

The source of a lot of this information comes from convicted frauds. And much of it is intentionally misconstrued.

I actually am a believer in Alien life, but I have to draw a line between the facts, and the “facts” as presented here. Please enjoy this series for what it is…Entertainment.

What have you learned so far ?

I would like to know facts, without quotation.

I strongly believe in this theory. If human being can progress from building a optical telescope to building spaceships and super computers in just 600 years, then this evolution would have taken a 1000s of times in 280 million years of human history.

Then after each evolution , humans should have destroyed themselves with atomic bombs.

it always irritates me when they say that our poor benighted ancestors “mistook” the aliens for gods, where did they get the concept of “gods” from in the first place? gosh, could it be that the aliens told them that they were gods? also, what if gods is what they call themselves, as we call ourselves humans? they taught us to obey them and make sacrifices of food and temple prostitutes for them, and they used us as workers in their mines and gardens and to fight their wars with each other. they also said if we did as they told us we would go to “heaven when we died” so of course we tried to please them, after all we couldn’t know for sure if they were telling the truth, but who wants to take a chance on missing out on a good thing? they were so superior to us that from then on any being that we perceived as superior to us, whether alien or human we assumed must be a god, which says that they looked like us, physically at least. the genetic content of our genes from the aliens kept rising because our women were sexually compatible with them and every time they produced a child our quotient of alien genes was raised and when that child grew up and produced a child the alien genes were spread thru out our human family. in truth we are, in large part, alien ourselves.

    to being and Mr Bean,

tho i can see where you coming from, it might be an exaggeration. they seem to be saying “it doesn’t make sense that this could be built with the technology available at the time” and not “it doesn’t make sense that this could be built without white people”.
